Voisse is a company which believes in the power of the spoken word.
People like to talk, Voisse let's them
Voisse was founded on the belief that people love to tell stories, it's how we communicate, and there's nothing more powerful than the spoken word. Unfortunately too many stories are lost, forever.
So Voisse is all about being able to capture whatever it is you want to say, wherever you are and save it - what you do with it then is up to you. See our ideas page for some inspiration.
Tools are so web 2.0
The web is full of useful tools. We are not about tools. Even the word gives us the shivers. Voisse is not a tool - we like to think of it as a collection of things that are easy to use, make a difference to and are useful.
We are social but we also like private
Social networks have their place and we all love them - but for lots of things sharing is not appropriate. Everything that is recorded on Voisse is private, by default.
We also do social, so if you want to record stuff for others to hear, that's also fine!
Speech is powerful, so use your Voisse
We actively encourage free speech and want the web to be as open as possible to allow everyone to have their say. Being able to be heard, rather than read or seen, brings your voisse to life - we just ask you to use it wisely...
Who are Voisse?
We are a UK based company, founded in early 2009, with a passion to build great products and help people use them.
Voisse is our first service and we are very proud!

What is Voisse?
Voisse has three core features at its heart - Record, keep and share.
1. Record
Voisse allows users to record any audio (or sound) they choose in whatever way they want - on-line using any modern browser, phone by calling a dedicated number or uploading existing recordings.
In doing so anyone, from the youngest child to the oldest adult can create recordings (Voisses).
2. Keep
The heart of Voisse is a personal store for all your Voisses, called My Voisses. This area is private by default and provides users with a simple method of cataloguing and tagging their Voisses. These Voisses can then easily be grouped together to create fantastic slideshows each with their personal narrations, giving relevance and context and a rich user experience.
Slideshows can be viewed on-line through a custom built viewer or downloaded to an iPod device so that they can always be with you and viewed whenever you want. The portable slideshow is in technical terms a podcast. No-one else gives the you the ability to easily create their very own podcasts.
There's desktop software that does similar things to Voisse, but it's infinitely more complex and require considerable technical ability.
3. Share
A core reason people choose to record audio is to share. Voisse gives you this ability, if you choose, via email or social networks such as Facebook and Twitter.
Many people have things to say, experience and wisdom to pass on, things which others value. For those who have popular or unique recordings or slideshows, we have created a Marketplace where they can be bought and sold.
The Voisse Marketplace offers you a unique area to create and sell your audio content.

Voisse was built from love, blood, sweat and not too many tears. It is the proud creation of 14 months of development. In no particular order we owe our thanks to (and ongoing support from!):

The Founding Fathers!
Like many business, the concept of Voisse was formed over a beer.
In late 2008 the founders Alan Back and Tim Peacock met in a Heathrow bar to discuss an idea swimming around Alan's head...
Alan is the CEO. He previously worked in various senior executive positions in an IT services company. He left in early 2009 to pursue and develop the idea which has now become Voisse.Listen to Alan explaining where Voisse came from.
Tim is the COO. Tim and Alan met a decade ago and spent 5 years working together. He has a deep technical understanding of web environments and the underlying applications and infrastructure architectures (techie!).Hear Tim talk about what Voisse is about.
